Yurts Direct
Some sample pictures of Mongolian yurts, made by different companies in Mongolia, all
have been imported into the UK. The pictures show the effects of the UK weather on
these shoddily made yurts. This is what will happen if you do not buy a yurt from us.
Left: What happens to wall sections when they are not
treated with any form of preservative and then erected.
Bottom Left: Yurt door after it has been (apparently)
erected for just one year. See how paint has faded.
Below: Same door. Paint looks better on the inside but
expect this door to start falling apart soon.
Right: Doors are my passion, they are the face of the
yurt. And like anyone's face, they tell the story of that
person, or that yurts life. This cheap door imported from
Mongolia is virtually falling to pieces after one year. The
cheap lead paint on the door has faded, the glue that a
great job anymore, the wall plaster that was used to hide
imperfections is falling out, the door edges and door
frame top & bottom that were left unpainted have let in
water and the whole door has swollen making it
impossible to close. This is what you can expect if you
buy a Mongolian yurt from anyone but us.
